InnoCore’s proprietary SynBiosys™ biodegradable polymer in a new clinical trial

On December 1, 2009 OrbusNeich announced the initiation of patient enrollment in the randomized clinical trial of their Combo Bio-engineered Sirolimus Eluting Stent. The low dose abluminal sirolimus elution is accomplished through the use of a SynBiosysTM biodegradable polymer matrix. InnoCore has granted SurModics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRDX) certain rights to commercialize SynBiosys biodegradable polymer technology for drug eluting coatings. SynBiosysTM is a unique and versatile biodegradable polymer platform for the controlled release of many different drug molecules.
